PFOA Recent Highlights and Updates from Dave Mayper
February has brought strong rebates from our programs. In February 2012, including direct to store credit or ACH, our members received a total of $1,338,672.61. Our February 2011 total was $78,583.03. The rebates from each program have grown considerably. We continue to review current programs and investigate new programs to benefit our membership.
Two of our Board Members are trying out a back up plan for PFOA members using AmerisourceBergen as primary by joining PPSC’s Silver program. We will report on how the program is working for them soon.
Stan Winters, PFOA MS President, participated in our first Coalition of Franchisees Association (CFA) meeting and had favorable comments on the group and their programs. This affiliation should prove useful to our membership and we will provide information on their efforts on a regular basis. I also participated in a legislative update by CFA and there has been positive movement in California and Massachusetts for sponsorship of legislation improving protections to franchisees.
PFOA hired McEwan Media Marketing to help with more frequent website communications and our newsletter. Please feel free to contact our office with suggestions for upcoming articles or communications.
We have recently added more members to the AAP affiliate program and ABC prime vendor program. These affiliations further strengthen our members and our organization.
PFOA has signed a confidentiality agreement and are learning more about the RxAlly program. Our Vendor Committee has already approved signing with RxAlly. More information about this unique program will be provided in our next newsletter.
We signed the United Master PSAO (United Drug) agreement and have our first member interested in signing. United Drug is AAP’s Third Party offering and its members enjoy probably one of the highest levels of customer service and flexibility in the industry. Contact your PFOA office for more information.
PFOA held a well-attended dinner with our members at the Pharmacy Development Services annual meeting in Orlando Florida. Over 600 independent pharmacies were represented. Our dinner was attended by 25 people, most of whom were members and some were affiliate vendors. This meeting gave our members an opportunity to interact and share ideas.
Our legal case with MSI for select members continues to move forward. A legal update webcast was held for the participants earlier this month allowing for them to get specific updates by the attorney’s. Questions and answers were asked and answered.
We have members taking the Cardinal conversion offer and have been helping them through the process. For those taking this course of action and are looking for a checklist, please ask Nancy Coibion in the office for a copy.
